As part of any planning for a wedding, the rings form an integral part of, not only the day itself but also as something you’ll both treasure every day of your married life.
So, why do we give and receive rings? To answer that question, we have to take a step back in time... I absolutely love Winter Weddings and in the past few years, some of them have even had more sunshine than the Summer! I tend to photograph a lot of weddings at Ferry House Inn during the winter and even Christmas time, which is extra special!

Stronger colours work beautifully in Autumn/ Winter. Summer brides may feel they should stick to a traditional, natural look with pastels and nude/pink tones, in keeping with the classic colour schemes for that time of year. However, off-peak brides can take advance of the richer colours usually associated- burgundy's, coppers, reds, plums and golds, perfect if you are looking to have a stronger makeup, or something different to a typical classical bridal look! Don't get me wrong- natural colours still work great too, you just have more options! For brides who love sparkle, the artificial lighting, used more frequently in off-peak weddings, works brilliantly with this type of makeup too, bringing out glitters and sparkles much better than natural light.
For our couples with a four legged companion, it is often the number 1 burning question they ask when they enquire...''Can my dog come to the wedding?"
Hell yeah! If you have a dog in your family, they've got to be there! Here at the Ferry House we love hosting our showcases and this one was no different. Our first showcase of 2020! It's lovely seeing all our couples come in to have a chat about their wedding and to have a look at different decor ideas, thanks to our recommended stylist Idyllic Days. It's also the perfect opportunity for new couples who are just starting their wedding planning experience, to come down to meet us and see our gorgeous venue fully set up. We love hearing about your wedding ideas and helping you bring them to life.
Twilight weddings are still a fairly new concept and they are for couples looking to steer away from the formalities of a full day wedding.
