What is a Twilight Wedding?

6/3/2020

Twilight weddings are still a fairly new concept and they are for couples looking to steer away from the formalities of a full day wedding.

Twilight weddings still include a full ceremony but later in the afternoon, usually 4:30pm or 5pm. This gives enough time to greet guests and take photos after the ceremony and then go into the evening reception and get the party started!  So, no need for table plans, speeches, favours, name cards, getting menu choices from your guests - just get married and party!

We offer 3 options for evening space, the barn, extra reception suite or the full event suite. Spreading guests too thinly between lots of rooms or a small crowd in a large space means the atmosphere is not likely to reach a good party vibe, because it feels to empty.

You can gather everyone for “cutting the cake” and create a photo opportunity for your guests and one for your wedding album too!

Here at The Ferry House we can offer your first dance on our light up dance floor or if you are looking for something different why not have it outside on the terrace, under the stars with your guests surrounding you. Sparklers can also create a perfect photo backdrop.

Evening food will start from 7pm so guests can tuck in before they hit the dancefloor.  If you are not dance floor lovers you can add a firepit to chill out and chat with friends whilst a member of staff toasts marshmallows on the fire for you.

If you don’t want the celebrations to end early we can add an extra hour so the music and dancing is going until 1am.  We include five of our 4 star rooms to end the night in luxury with breakfast the following morning to soak up all that alcohol and talk about all the stories from the wedding.
