COVID-19 PROCEDURES AT THE FERRY HOUSE
UPDATE: 16th March 2020: We are currently reviewing the latest government advice and carefully considering our response to this. This page will be updated with further information as soon as possible.
We're continuing to evaluate and follow WHO and government advice closely as the coronavirus outbreak evolves. The measures we're taking to respond to the situation are outlined here and will be updated as circumstances change.
Our exceptionally high standards of hygiene and cleanliness have already earned us the highest Food Hygiene Rating (level 5) from the Food Standards Agency. In response to COVID-19 we are implementing further robust measures to help protect the health and well being of staff and guests:
Increased cleaning of surfaces throughout the venue. Door handles and other high-touch points are cleaned before and after every service, and every hour during service times
Signage at the venue directs all guests to hand washing facilities on arrival, with tissues and hand sanitizer also available for customers' use. If you can't immediately see hand sanitizer please ask a member of staff
We're no longer greeting our guests with a handshake or other physical gesture
Hosting all meetings for wedding viewings and appointments will be held in a spacious, private lounge not open to diners and other guests
Visitors and staff are asked to reduce use of cash/cash handling, settling bills where possible by card
Tables in dining areas are already well-spaced with plenty of room between them, however when arranging bookings staff are paying particular attention to where guests are seated to give ample room between tables
Our Artisian Breakfast Buffet is currently suspended
It's no secret that the coronavirus outbreak is having a detrimental affect on the hospitality industry. Please, if you can, continue to support to your favourite venues - if not by immediate patronage then by considering purchasing a gift voucher for yourself or a loved one to use a later date. We'll all be deserving of some R&R before too long! Stay well and see you soon.
